WILLIAM SMITH DEFEATS VASSAR 45-39
Aubee reaches 1200 points in loss
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. Junior forward Kaleen Goodman (Painted Post, N.Y.) came off of the bench to score a game-high 15 points and lead William Smith College to a 45-39 victory over Vassar College in a Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association women¹s basketball game Friday evening at the Athletic & Fitness Center.
William Smith (7-8, 3-3 UCAA) pulled away after a sluggish start‹the Herons made just three of 27 baskets in the first half‹to even their conference record.
Senior forward Carleen Aubee (Chepachet, R.I.) led Vassar (4-11, 1-5 UCAA) with 14 points and ten rebounds. Aubee broke the 1200-point career plateau early in the first half, she now has 1208 points. Freshman guard Natalie Serkowski (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) chipped in seven points and seven rebounds.
Senior forward Laura Hadwin (Vestal, N.Y.) added ten points and nine rebounds for the Herons, despite making just one of 14 baskets for the game.
Vassar resumes conference play Saturday afternoon against Hamilton at 4 p.m.
