HAMILTON SWEEPS VASSAR BASKETBALL TEAMS
Continental men win 78-52, women win 53-36
Vassar (3-12, 0-7 UCAA) trailed 38-29, before Finley scored 15 points in the second half to put the game away for Hamilton (13-3, 6-1 UCAA). Junior forward Joe Smith (Sherrill, N.Y.) scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half as well, as the Continentals made 65 percent of their shots in the period.
Sophomore forward Matt Parker (Highland, N.Y.) led Vassar (3-12, 0-7 UCAA) with 17 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Sophomore guard Seth Taft (Philadelphia, Penn.) added seven points.
In the womenıs game, Hamilton (9-7, 5-2 UCAA) placed 13 players in the scoring column, led by sophomore guard Missy Nelson (Oxford, N.Y.) and freshman guard Jessica Gormanıs (Conway, Mass.) nine points as the Continentals slipped past Vassar 53-36.
Vassar (4-12, 1-6 UCAA) was plagued by poor shootingmaking just 19 percent of their shotsdespite a strong defensive effort that led to 17 steals.
The Brewers were led by senior forward Carleen Aubee (Chepachet, R.I.) with ten points and six rebounds. Freshman guard Natalie Serkowski (Clinton Corners, N.Y.) also chipped in ten points.
Sophomore forward Anna Jablonski (E. Aurora, N.Y.) grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with four points for Hamilton.
