Directions to Vassar Athletics Venues

Note: Please be advised that dogs are not allowed on any of the fields at the Prentiss Complex. The Department of Athletics & Physical Education respectfully asks that you do not bring your dog(s) or pets to an athletic contest.

Athletics & Fitness Center

Basketball

The Athletic & Fitness Center houses the basketball court. The following directions are from campus.

  • From the Main Gate go straight toward Main Building
  • Turn right at the stop sign.
  • Continue to another stop sign. Follow road as it bears slightly around to the left.
  • Turn right at the next road.
  • Continue down the hill, over the bridge and up the hill.
  • Turn right after passing the field on the left.
  • Walker Field House is the gray wood building in front.
  • Parking available in the lot.

Hudson River Facility

Rowing

The rowing facility is located less than five miles from campus. The following directions are from campus.

  • Take a right out of the main gate onto Raymond Avenue.
  • Stay straight through six traffic lights. At the 6th light, take a left onto U.S. HWY 44-55 West
  • Stay on 44-55 through 12-13 traffic lights.
  • 44-55 will bend to the left around the backside of the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel (on corner) and the Civic Center.
  • Get into the right most lane after you get around the bend, and take a right onto Main Street.
  • Stay straight on Main Street through 3 or 4 traffic lights, heading down the hill and under the Route 9 overpass.
  • Take a right onto N. Water Street.
  • Follow N. Water Street to the end (about a mile), passing the Poughkeepsie Train Station.
  • The road will end at the Vassar Boathouse (our main gate and blue Club House).
  • Parking available in the lot. If the gate is closed, park at the top of the hill.

Joss Tennis Courts

Tennis

  • From the Main Gate go straight toward Main Building.
  • Turn left at the stop sign.
  • Turn left at the next stop sign.
  • Continue through the next stop sign.
  • Turn left into the parking lot.
  • Parking available in the lot.

Kenyon Hall

Volleyball, Squash

  • From the Main Gate go straight toward Main Building.
  • Turn left at the stop sign.
  • Bear left at the next stop sign.
  • Continue through the next stop sign.
  • Turn right before the north gate.
  • Kenyon Hall is the first building on the left. You may park behind Kenyon or in opposite lot.

Prentiss Field

Baseball, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, J. L. Weinberg Sports Pavilion

Prentiss Field is located a half-mile west from the "T" at Raymond Avenue and Hooker Avenue. The following directions are from campus.

  • Continue past the main gate on Raymond Avenue.
  • Turn right at the next light.
  • Continue past "LaFalces Restaurant" on the left.
  • Turn right across from "Gulf" station.
  • Baseball diamond and women's soccer field are on the right.
  • Men's lacrosse and men's soccer field is further past on the right.
  • Field hockey and women's lacrosse is located on the left.

Vassar Farm

Rugby

The Vassar Farm is located a half-mile south from the "T" at Raymond Avenue and Hooker Avenue. The following directions are from campus.

  • Continue past the main gate on Raymond Avenue.
  • At the traffic light, drive straight across the "T" on to a partially paved road.
  • Continue down and then up the hill.
  • Turn right past the barn.
  • Parking available near the entrance of the rugby field.

Walker Field House

Swimming, Indoor Tennis

  • From the Main Gate go straight toward Main Building
  • Turn right at the stop sign.
  • Continue to another stop sign. Follow road as it bears slightly around to the left.
  • Turn right at the next road.
  • Continue down the hill, over the bridge and up the hill.
  • Turn right after passing the field on the left.
  • Walker Field House is the gray wood building in front.
  • Parking available in the lot.
