Fitness and Recreation Facilities
A 53,000-square-foot building addition creates a new entry and front door to the main athletic building (Walker Field House), providing a varsity gym with seating for 850 spectators and an indoor all-purpose running track that serves as the gym's upper deck.
The fitness room contains cardiovascular equipment such as treadmills and stationary bikes, free weights and machine weights. Other amenities include multipurpose rooms, administrative offices, varsity locker rooms as well as laundry and storage areas. The new facility is next to Vassar's nine-hole, par 34 Golf Course that is available to the Vassar community.
Vassar Golf Course is a 9 hole, public golf course situated on the campus of Vassar College. Established in 1930, this is a scenic 2,500 yard golf course with beautiful mature trees, character and charm. All players are welcome on a first come, first serve basis. Vassar is a very enjoyable walking course, however, golf carts are available. An average 9 hole round of golf requires only 2 hours. Vassar welcomes golfers of all levels, including juniors, seniors, and families. The course is a fair challenge for beginner to intermediate players. The Golf Course is on the campus next to Athletics & Fitness Center.
The tennis team practices and plays on 14 hard courts located within the campus boundaries. Vassar hosts several major collegiate tennis tournaments including those sponsored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, Liberty League and ECAC. When not in use by the tennis teams, the Vassar community is free to enjoy the courts.
Prentiss Field

dog(s) or pets to an athletic contest.
The outdoor sports compete at Prentiss Field, which is within walking distance of Vassar's main campus. The complex features two soccer fields, a baseball diamond, two lacrosse fields and a field hockey practice and playing field. A quarter-mile all-weather track is open to the Vassar community.
Located at the intersection of Raymond Avenue and Route 376, the Vassar Farm is home to the Vassar rugby teams. The Farm is popular desitination for recreational walking and running.
Located in the heart of the Vassar campus, recently refurbished Keyon Hall is home to Vassar's men's and women's squash and men's and women's volleyball teams.
Walker serves as the main athletic building on campus. This flexible, multipurpose facility has 42,250 square feet of floor space. The volleyball, soccer, fencing, baseball and tennis teams conduct full practices.
Other features of Walker include five tennis courts, two basketball courts and two volleyball courts. Many intramural events are played at Walker.
Vassar's 25-meter, six-lane pool is also located inside Walker. A separate diving well includes 1-meter and 3-meter boards. Scheduled water aerobics and lap swimming are available throughout the year.
**Lockers are available, but no overnight locks are allowed**
The J. L. Weinberg Field Sports Pavilion, which opened in March of 2003, is named for John L. Weinberg, the husband of major donor Sue Gotshal Weinberg ('51), who served on the Vassar Board of Trustees. The new building is part of a comprehensive plan to upgrade the athletic fields at Prentiss. The pavilion is located adjacent to the soccer, field hockey, baseball, and lacrosse fields and includes locker rooms, a laundry room, and an athletic training facility.
