VASSAR FALLS TO KING'S 4-3 IN FIELD HOCKEY
William Paterson coach gets 200th career victory against Elmira
Amanda Jez, Kelly Bowes, Chasity Force and Sabo staked Kingšs (4-1) to a 4-1
lead at halftime. Emily Morris and Kaitlin Harvie led a second half Brewer
charge that fell one goal short. Kate Ross scored the lone Brewer goal in the
first half.
Tara Trifon and Sharla Alegria combined for four saves
for Vassar (0-2). Katie Dalo had six saves for the Monarchs. Kingšs will face
William Paterson University in the championship at noon Sunday after defeating
Elmira 4-0 in the second game.
Krista Hinshillwood scored two goals and assisted both
goals by Heidi Koenig for William Paterson who gave head coach Hallie Cohen her
200th career victory.
Megan Mooney had ten saves for Elmira (2-2), while
Kelly Harchetts and Jessie Mull combined for five saves for William Paterson
(3-0).
Vassar faces Elmira in the consolation match at 10
a.m. Sunday.
