Elsenbeck scores twice, Lloyd adds two assists to lead
Saints in UCAA match
All of the scoring occurred in the first 22 minutes of
the first half. Sophomore forward Liz Allison (No. Creek, N.Y.) scored 2:35
into the game when she converted a penalty stroke. Elsenbeck made it a two-goal
game less than five minutes later when she beat senior goalkeeper Tara Trifon
(Coronado, Calif.) with a shot.
Freshman midfielder Lindsay Guest (Brunswick, Maine)
cut the lead to 2-1, when she picked up a rebound on a shot by senior defender
Maureen Kenealy (Wellesley, Mass.) and beat SLU junior keeper Sarah Rohrs
(Gloversville, N.Y.) for the goal.
Junior forward Erin Lloyd (Corinth, N.Y.) put the game
away for the Saints, when she assisted graduate forward Nicola Reid (Kingston,
Jamaica) and Elsenbeck on goals for the 4-1 final.
Vassar (3-11, 1-5 UCAA) outshot the Saints 19-13.
Rohrs made eight saves in the first half, while senior Amelia Gomez
(Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) collected five in the second for Saint Lawrence (8-4, 4-2
UCAA). Trifon had six saves for Vassar.
Vassar resumes conference play Saturday afternoon
against Hamilton College at 2 p.m. Saint Lawrence will play at Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute at 1 p.m.
