KEUKA MEN'S LACROSSE DEFEATS VASSAR 13-7
Winkler leads Brewers with four goals

 

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Freshman attacker Zach Winkler (W. Islip, N.Y.) scored four goals, but it was not enough as Vassar College fell 13-7 to Keuka College in a non-conference men's lacrosse game Monday afternoon at Prentiss Field.

 

Junior attacker Lucas Hopkins (Watertown, N.Y.) scored all of his points on a goal and three assists to lead Keuka (2-2) to an early 6-2 lead after the first period.

 

Keuka led 8-4 at halftime. Sophomore midfielder Brian Townley (Geneva, N.Y.) led the Storm with five goals, including a pair at the end of the game after Vassar (2-4) had cut the Keuka lead to 11-7 with just under ten minutes left in the match.

 

Sophomore midfielder Wes Hopkins (Watertown, N.Y.) added two goals and two assists, while sophomore attacker Nic DeMaria (Geneva, N.Y.) came off the bench to chip in two goals for the Storm.

 

Junior midfielder Justin Schrager (Santa Maria, Calif.) added a pair of goals for the Brewers.

 

Freshman Will Noll (Baltimore, Md.) collected ten saves for Vassar, while Junior Aaron Quku (Newark, N.Y.) made 14 stops for Keuka.

 

Vassar hosts Dominican College at Prentiss Field on Saturday, April 19th at 2 p.m.
