CLARKSON DEFEATS VASSAR 11-3 IN WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Rice accounts for seven goals as Golden Knights pick up UCAA win

 

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Senior Mary Rice (Manlius, N.Y.) scored three goals and assisted on four others to lead Clarkson University to an 11-3 Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association women's lacrosse victory Friday afternoon at Prentiss Field.

 

Clarkson (5-5, 1-4 UCAA) built a 7-0 lead at the half. Junior Colleen Flynn (Syracuse, N.Y.) added two first-half goals.

 

In the second half, the Golden Knights increased their lead to 11-0 as senior Jessie Judge (Liverpool, N.Y.) ran off three straight goals after another Rice tally.

 

Senior Maeve Hopkins (Stow, Ohio) got Vassar (4-7, 0-4 UCAA) on the board with two goals in the last nine minutes of play. Sophomore Emilie Moeckel (Hocressin, Del.) scored the last goal for the 11-3 final.

 

Junior Allison Morlock (Lebanon, N.H.) was spectacular in goal for Clarkson making 17 saves. Junior Sarah Lackay (Brick, N.J.) had ten stops for Vassar.
