VASSAR LACROSSE DEFEATS NEW PALTZ 20-2
Hogan, Margolis-Pineo score four goals apiece in rout of Hawks

 

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Freshman Kristin Hogan (Ellicott City, Md.) scored four goals and set up another to lead Vassar College to a 20-2 victory over SUNY New Paltz in a non-conference women's lacrosse game Wednesday afternoon at Prentiss Field.

 

Hogan collected two goals and an assist less than five minutes into the game. Junior Sarah Margolis-Pineo (Portland, Maine) came off the bench to add four goals of her own as the Brewers built a commanding 16-0 lead at halftime.

 

Junior Celine DeCarlo (Buffalo, N.Y.) chipped in two goals and two assists for Vassar (3-5). Ten players scored goals in all for the Brewers.

 

Freshman Theresa Hayes (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) and sophomore Mary Warren (Mineola, N.Y.) had the lone tallies for New Paltz (0-3).

 

Junior Sarah Lackay (Brick, N.J.) made seven saves for Vassar. Senior Lisa Bizzarro (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) had nine stops for New Paltz.
