Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Mission Statement
The National Mission Statement:
"To enhance the student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete well being and fostering a positive image while maintaining the Division III philosophy."
Vassar SAAC Mission Statement
Vassar SAAC's purpose is to achieve the Nation SAAC's mission statement as well as address campus specific issues to improve the overall well being of our student athletes.
We hope to enhance the student athlete experience in four interrelated ways.
- Generating an informed student athlete voice within Vassar College Athletics The liberty League, and NCAA Division III which includes, but is not limited to
- Soliciting student athlete response to proposed NCAA legislations
- Promoting effective communication between Student Athletes and the Athletic Administration
- Disseminating student athlete related information
- Facilitating community outreach with Student Athletes, by inviting the community into Vassar and by Student Athletes going out to serve the great Hudson Valley Community.
- Fostering a positive relationship between the Vassar College community and student Athletes, which include, but is not limited to
- Increasing non-student athlete awareness and support in the Athletic Programs
- Encouraging Student athlete representation and success within Vassar as a whole and not just within athletics.
- Strengthening the sense of community with the athletics programs involving all teams.
