Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Senior midfielder Joe Nazzaro (Dracut, Mass.) scored off of a rebound to lead Vassar College to a 1-0 upset over 4th-ranked Saint Lawrence University in an UCAA men's soccer game Friday afternoon at Prentiss Field.

Nazzaro's goal came at 31:20 in the first half. Junior midfielder Joseph Petruccelli (Flushing, N.Y.) started the play on a direct-kick that bounced out of the arms of junior goalkeeper Dustin Crooker (Horseheads, N.Y.). Nazzaro collected the rebound and fired a shot into the net to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead.

Junior Paul Connors (No. Andover, Mass.) recorded the shutout for Vassar with three saves. Crooker had two saves for the Saints.

With the win, Vassar improves to 6-4 overall and 1-2 in the UCAA. Saint Lawrence drops their first game of the year to fall to 6-1-1, 3-1 UCAA.

Vassar takes on Clarkson University, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at Prentiss.
