VASSAR TIES CLARKSON 0-0
Connors makes eight saves in 110 minutes

POTSDAM, N.Y. -- Vassar College's playoff chances were dealt a serious blow as the Brewers tied Clarkson University 0-0 Friday afternoon in an Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association match at Clarkson Field.

Senior goaltender Paul Connors (No. Andover, Mass.) made eight saves for Vassar to record his fifth shutout of the season. Freshman goaltender David Hennessey (Wading River, N.Y.) made eight saves, several of which came on sprawling dives, to keep the Golden Knights (3-8-3) in the game, tallying his fourth shutout of the season.

Vassar out shot the Golden Knights by a 16-12 margin, but Clarkson held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Vassar needs three points with two games remaining to catch up to fourth-place Skidmore College. The Brewers take on St. Lawrence University on Saturday, before closing out the conference schedule next Saturday at Rensselaer Polytechic Institute.
