Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Freshman forward Chris Rogers (Marietta, Ga.) scored ten minutes into the game to lead Hobart College to a 1-0 win over Vassar College in a UCAA men's soccer match Friday afternoon.

The Statesmen scored when Rogers received the ball inside the box and fired a shot into the upper-right corner over junior goalkeeper Paul Connors (No. Andover, Mass.) for the goal.

Hobart played a man down for over 85 minutes after receiving a red card 4:10 into play.

Senior goalkeeper Cory Rosier (Liverpool, N.Y.) made a spectacular save just over two minutes into the second half on a Joe Nazzaro (Dracut, Mass./senior) penalty kick to preserve the shutout.

Connors made six saves Vassar (9-5, 2-3 UCAA). Rosier had six saves for the Statesmen (9-6-1, 3-3 UCAA).
