VASSAR BLASTS MOUNT SAINT MARY 10-0 IN MEN'S SOCCER
Petruccelli scores three, assists another as Brewers improve to 3-0

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. --Senior midfielder Joseph Petruccelli (Flushing, N.Y.) paced Vassar College with three goals and an assist to lead the men's soccer team to a 10-0 victory over Mount Saint Mary College Wednesday afternoon at Prentiss Field.

Vassar (3-0) led 6-0 at halftime. Junior forward Aldis Butler (Larkspur, Calif.) added two goals and an assist, while senior midfielder Owen Kendall (Pullman, Wash.) chipped in a pair of first-half goals. Sophomore midfielder Michael Kennett (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) and freshman forward Avery Green-Spector (Upper Montclair, N.J.) tacked on a goal and an assist apiece.

Vassar outshot the Blue Knights 29-8. Seniors Paul Connors (No. Andover, Mass.) and Alex Parra (Flushing, N.Y.) combined for the shutout with Connors making all four saves.

Freshman Peter Welker (Chittenango, N.Y.) saved seven of 16 Brewer shots, before giving way to senior Jason Mires (Pine Bush, N.Y.).

Vassar resumes non-conference play Saturday afternoon at noon against SUNY Old Westbury.
