VASSAR SHUTS OUT KEYSTONE 2-0 IN MEN'S SOCCER
Green-Spector sets up first goal, scores second as Brewers win

 

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Freshman forward Avery Green-Spector (Upper Montclair, N.J.) scored a goal and added an assist to lead Vassar College to a 2-0 non-conference men's soccer victory over Keystone College Saturday afternoon at Prentiss Field.

 

Junior forward Aldis Butler (Larkspur, Calif.) tallied his tenth goal of the season 14:46 into the game, when he headed a cross from Green-Spector for the goal. Green-Spector made it 2-0 about 30 minutes later when he re-directed a cross from senior midfielder Joseph Petruccelli (Flushing, N.Y.) to give Vassar a two-goal advantage.

 

Vassar (3-0) outshot the Giants 31-4 for the contest. Freshman Reinaldo Arce (Old Forge, Penn.) turned in a strong performance in goal for Keystone (4-5) with 12 saves. Senior Paul Connors (No. Andover, Mass.) collected his second solo shutout of the season, making one save for Vassar.

 

Vassar resumes conference play Friday afternoon at home against Union College. Gametime is 4 p.m.
