Willhite, Walsh tally a goal and an assist each as VC
picks up third win

-- Vassar College defeated Russell Sage College 4-2
Thursday afternoon in a non-conference women's soccer match at Prentiss Field.
Senior midfielder Elizabeth Keehner (Rocky Hill,
Conn.) gave Vassar (3-12) a 1-0 lead midway through the first half when she
converted a far-post free kick by freshman defender Ali Fantl (W. Hartford,
Conn.).
After a Jennifer McBride (Mechanicville, N.Y.) goal
early in the second half tied the game, sophomore midfielders Ashley Willhite
(Royalston, Mass.) and Patricia Walsh (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) broke the game open
with a goal and an assist a piece to give the Brewers a commanding 4-1 lead.
Senior midfielder Lindsey Pilver (Murietta, Calif.) had the fourth goal for
Vassar. Senior forward Michaela McBride (Mechanicville, N.Y.) scored late for
the Gators (10-6-2).
Sophomore Heather Jaffe (Belle Meade, N.J.) made seven
saves for Vassar. Sophomore Katharine Tracy (Newport, N.Y.) made two stops for
Russell Sage.
Vassar wraps up its season Saturday with a home match
against Utica College at 2 p.m.
