DiNAPOLI LIFTS MANHATTANVILLE PAST VASSAR
Second half goal sinks VC in women's soccer

 

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Lauren DiNapoli scored midway through the second half to lead Manhattanville College to a non-conference women's soccer victory over Vassar College Wednesday afternoon.


DiNapoli gave the Valiants the lead when took a cross from Erica Cisek and headed the ball past sophomore goalie Alice England (Salt Lake City, Utah) for the score.

 

The Brewers pressed late in the game, and just missed tying it up as time expired on a Lindsey Pilver (Murietta, Calif.) shot that rolled just wide.

 

Vassar (0-4) outshot Manhattanville 15-5 for the games. England made three saves in her first start of the season.

 

Michelle Ribiero made ten saves for the Valiants (4-4).

 

Vassar begins conference play Friday afternoon at 4:00 against Hamilton College at Prentiss Field.
