HAMILTON DEFEATS VASSAR 2-0
Dropkin-Frank, Fisher post goals in UCAA women's soccer match

 

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Hamilton College got goals from junior midfielder Mara Dropkin-Frank (E. Chatham, N.Y.) and freshman midfielder Eileen Fisher (Skaneateles, N.Y.) as the Continentals defeated Vassar College 2-0 in an Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association women's soccer contest Friday afternoon at Prentiss Field.

 

Dropkin-Frank got Hamilton (3-0-1, 1-0 UCAA) on the board when she sent a cross from the right side that caught the upper left corner of the net for the goal at 19:41. Fisher made it 2-0 less than seven minutes later when she blasted a shot inside the box past freshman goalie Lisa Strumwasser (Malibu, Calif.).

 

Vassar had several scoring opportunities but was turned away by the solid play of senior goalie Jen Munoz (Old Bridge, N.J.). Munoz made six saves for the Continentals. Strumwasser collected six saves for Vassar (0-5, 0-1 UCAA).

 

Vassar continues conference play Saturday afternoon at 2:00 when they take on William Smith College at Prentiss Field.
