Maslikowski, Brookner, Bruhn run winning streaks to three

 

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Junior Jake Maslikowski (Scottsdale, Ariz.) defeated senior Tiberu Taran (Brooklyn, N.Y.) 6-1, 6-1 in #1 singles to lead Vassar College to a 7-0 men's tennis victory over SUNY New Paltz Wednesday afternoon at Walker Field House.

 

Maslikowski has won four straight matches for Vassar (4-8) after losing his first 11. Junior Aaron Brookner (Short Hills, N.J.) picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #5 singles over junior Brian Palmenteri (Howard Beach, N.Y.) and senior Nat Bruhn (Storrs, Conn.) defeated sophomore Josh Greenspan (No. Babylon, N.Y.) 6-2, 6-1 at #6 singles to join Maslikowski as Brewers who have won four straight individuals matches.

 

Sophomores John Liszewski (So. Windsor, Conn.), Pouya Rebek (La Jolla, Calif.), and Andrew Ezekowitz (Woodbridge, Conn.) picked up wins at #2, #3, and #4 singles respectively.

 

New Paltz drops to 3-3 on the season, after having won three straight. Vassar hosts Adelphi University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
